The second wine of the famous La Chapelle, one of the best wines of the Hermitage appellation. This is the last vintage under the name as from 2015 vintage it is labeled La Maison Bleue. Jaboulet started with a small plot of vines on the famous Hermitage hill back in 1834!
Typical blend, Syrah. 1.5Lt Magnum bottle. Abv 13%
Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level in neck
Tasting Note 12/01/2026 - 92 Points
Opened, but not decanted for 45 minutes before pouring. This was the first wine of the night, and I think it would have benefited by an extended decant as it improved (or opened up) greatly during the night. Complex with more spice notes than fruit, especially compared to the new world wines that followed it. A medium+ body, with a long finish.
