The Merlot dominant estate dates back to 1453 and has belonged to the Borie-Manoux négociant business since 1949. In 1955 it was rated as Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the official classification of the Saint-Emilion wines, a status it has retained through every subsequent reiteration of the famed classification. The 1972 vintage sadly holds the reputation of being one of the poorest of the decade. That said one or two bottles have been a pleasant surprise over the last couple of years.

Typical blend, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. Abv % not stated.

Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of neck.
