The original name of what is now Chateau Pirbran and not to be confused with the second wine which is called Chateau Pibran La Tour Pibran. It is one of six Cru Bourgeois in the commune of Pauillac. The year following this vintage the property was baught by AXA, owners of Pichon Baron. 1986 was a very good vintage for the region.
Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. Abv 12.5%
Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level very top shoulder
5/4/2015 -90 Points
Dark garnet color. Nose of blackberry, cassis, some wet stone. Similar on the palate with good depth of fruit, minerality, and tannin. Drinking well but should be fine for another 5 years or so. Lovely wine from a great vintage.
