Although Sociando Mallet was left out of the 1855 classification it is considered equal to many classed growths. A claaicaly structured wine with fine tannins and great ageing potential.
Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle Abv 13%
Bottle condition, capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level in neck.
Tasting note 14.09.2025. Very dark in color. Opening very slowly and currently feeling rather closed overall. A rather restrained nose with plenty of primary aromas: cassis, blackberry, and black cherry. On the palate, round tannins and those same dark berries are present, but it could probably use a touch more acidity. Compared to Chasse Spleen from the same vintage the day before, this wine appears considerably younger and needs at least another 5, if not 10, years of aging to fully develop.
