Chateau Musar Vintage 2001

A lovely vintage for Chateau Musar, although the growing season proved a little challenging. Very little rain fall reducing the overall crop by 15%

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Carignan. 75cl bottle. Abv 13.5%

The Cork

Musar corks can be problematic and the estate themselves suggest using prongs rather than a cork screw 2001 seems to be particularly susepatable to them breaking. Personally I always use a Durand with Musar. The wine though is unaffected by the cork problem.

This is on song! Coming to believe that 2001 may be up there with 98 and 99 in the Musar Pantheon. This is civilised - colours between the lines, but unmistakably Musar. Went very well with the food.
