Chateau Mouton Rothschild Vintage 1993

A vintage that doesn't have a great reputation, but wine making techniques  helped in that there are no real awful vintages as there were pre 1980s when the weather held all the cards. As the Chateau say on their website "the grapes were healthy, highly coloured and full of flavour. Holding the promise of a well balanced, full bodied wine.

The label by Balthus caused some controversy in the USA and was withdrawn. A new label was produced with just the pastel colour background without the figure of the young girl.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle

Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of nec

Pronounced nose intensity of chocolate, vanilla, leather, toast, spices, smoke. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Long finish.
