The name of what was and now is again Chateau d'Armailhac, between 1975 and 1988. The property was purchased by the Rothschilds in 1933, they have invested heavily over the years in both the vineyards and the wine making

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot.

Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level top shoulder

Tasting Note 6/8/2025 -92 Points

level lower neck, long cork fully soaked, extracted intact with The Durand, very little sediment, decanted for 4 hours, which was beneficial, initially the’86 acidity rather dominated but with time achieved better balance, still remarkable colour with only limited bricking, lovely, fine, really classy, complex and deep nose, classic cedar and graphite of Pauillac, palate also fine, of medium weight but excellent concentration and depth, very long with great persistence, for the vintage remarkably restrained and elegant, the in-barrel tasting reviews we’re very positive, which is why I bought and the wine at almost 40 years of age has lived up to this promise
