Château Margaux is one of Bordeaux's most famous wine estates, located just east of Margaux itself in the Médoc. It was rated as a first growth in the original 1855 classification.Generally, Margaux is considered as the most elegant of the first growths, and is consistently one of the most expensive wines in the world. 1967 was not one of the best vintages of the decade, but some good wines were made, but in a lighter style.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl bottle. Abv% Not stated.

Bottle condition, capsule damaged, label bin soiled, wine level low shoulder

Tasting Note 27/06/2024

From a bottle that had leaked considerably. The nose has some nutty aldehyde along with leather and tar notes. The palate was sweet and vinous, with decent depth. It was savoury, had a touch of mint and the finish was vital and of modest length.
