Chateau Leoville Barton Vintage 1983

A great effort from Leoville Barton in this vintage which produced good wine, but not in the same class as 1982.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl bottle. Abv 12.5%

Bottle condition, capsule good, labels bin soiled, wine level top shoulder

This was excellent. N v potent upon opening; P initially a bit disjointed and thin. Opened and allowed to breathe for c.1 hour. After 1 hour P began to come together and put on weight. V enjoyable. Wish I had more. With roast lamb. What great bdx is supposed to be all about.
