About the wine

The Saint Emilion Premier Grand Cru B is situated on the Cote Pavie and has been owned by the Gratiot Alphandéry family since the 1940s. It was the first estate to use gravity in the cellar to reduce the chance of oxidation.Planted predominantly with Merlot vines with an average age of 35 years. The 1989 vintage was excellent for the region.

Typical blend, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. ABv 12.5%

Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of neck.

So smooth and balanced with fully integrated tannins. Still some primary berry aromas with nice leather and mushrooms notes . Really balanced and enjoyable wine. Drink on its own but could be paired with white meat and mushroom dishes.
