This Sauternes estate dates back to 1630 and the chateau was built in 1709 by Romain de Filhot. After the French Revolution it passed to the Our Saluces family. Today it is owned and managed by Gabriel de Vaucelles, a descendent of Filhot. The 1990 vintage was fabulous for the sweet wines of Bordeaux.

Typical blend, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle. 75cl bottle. Abv 12%

Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of neck.

Tasting Note 19/6/2020 - 93 Points

It demonstrated greater density and depth than the 1995 Coutet, a superb Sauternes at its peak. Aromas of marmalade, orange peel, apricot, and caramel. Very good balance and power despite its age.
