About the wine

A property that after the sale, by the Ferrieres in 1914, changed hands many times until it was bought by the Villars family in 1988. The quality and consistency has risen steadily since. A very good vintage for the region.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. 75cl bottle. Abv 13%

Bottle condition capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level in neck

This was wonderful, really firing on all cylinders. Medium ruby, not much sign of aging. Really nice nose that has all of the elements, but none of the excesses. There's black currant, tobacco, cedar, all swimming along, commingling. Palate is light to medium bodied, and the flavours are great, but they are not huge or particularly deep, a product of the vintage, but they are true and elegant. Tannins are resolved, balance is near perfect. Very enjoyable, ready to go but will likely stay on this level for a good 5+ years.
