About the wine

A property that after the sale, by the Ferrieres in 1914, changed hands many times until it was bought by the Villars family in 1988. The quality and consistency has risen steadily since. A very good vintage for the region.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. 75cl bottle. Abv 13%

Bottle condition capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level in neck

Tasting Note

Expert tasting note: (2003 vintage) "Deep, dark, ruby-red color, is not quite opaque. The Nose has a ripe, high-toned plum character. The palate displays ripe, indistinct red/black fruit which has distinct over-mature characteristics. The restrained oak marries well with the fruit, supple tannins helping fruit & tannins to meld. Acidity is fresh & lifts the fruit nicely. The alcohol is well in balance & the finish has fair length. This is an attractive, open ripe wine for mid-term drinking." - 11/07 DCAMW
