About the wine
- The first traces of vines at Malle go back to the 15th Century. It is generally thought that until the middle of the 17th Century the white wines in the Sauternes region were actually dry wines, and the oldest known and direct reference to a vintage of sweet wines goes back to 1666. The 1855 classification served as confirmation of the great quality of the sweet white wine of Château de Malle. The 1996 vintage was a great success for the sweet wines of Bordeaux
Tasting Note 27/08/2021 -Â 89 Points
Wet cork, minimal ullage. Orange mahogany colour. Orange zest and caramel, hint of burnt fig. On the palate this is sweet but not intensely so. Acidity keeping it bright, moderate botrytis profile present and turns more apricotty (tinned apricots in syrup). Fades away to a shortish finish.
