- Château de Beaucastel has long been considered one of the great wines of France. It is unanimously renowned for its balance, elegance and ageing potential. Beaucastel has an extraordinary terroir at the Northern end of the appellation with heavy exposure to the Mistral. All 13 varieties of the appellation grapes have been organically grown here since the sixties. The 2003 vintage was very good for the wines of the Rhone Valley in-spite of the extreme heat.
Typical blend Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre plus a small portion of 10 other varieties. 75cl bottle. Abv 14%
Bottle condition capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level high fill
Tasting Note 27/03/2026 -Â 93 Points
From a magnum. Bottle condition was excellent including fill level. Cork was soft and crumbling. A pleasure to enjoy this wine, it’s very well done. In a good spot but no rush here.
