Château Croizet-Bages located in Pauillac subregion of Bordeaux,  on the Left Bank of the Garonne estuary. It was (and remains) rated a fifth growth in the 1855 Classification. Its grand vin is based on the classic Bordeaux blend.Croizet-Bages was established by the Croizet brothers in the first half of the 18th Century and changed hands multiple times before being purchased by its current owners, the Quié family in 1942. The 1998 vintage was good but not great and favoured the Merlot grape.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl Bottle. Abv 13%

Aired for couple hours at the bottle then in decanter.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like black pepper. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

It felt quite closed.
