One-hour decant through a screened funnel. Cork was steeped through and the bottom fifth broke off while pulling it. Cork did not crumble however. During decant, wine was moderately aromatic: black fruits and damp forest floor. Wine was clear, darker bowl lightening to rim, no amber or bricking. No sediment to speak of. In the glass, blackberries with stems, blueberries and cigar box aromas of cedar and tobacco. In the mouth, tannins were all resolved; wine was smooth. Deep black fruits, earth and coffee with a fairly long finish showing cedar. Wine was wonderful given its age.
