About the wine

A firm Wine Cru favourite.Château Caronne Ste Gemme is an estate just south of Saint-Julien in the Haut Medoc. Its grand vin is a classic Bordeaux blend, and was classified as a Cru Bourgeois  Supérieur of Haut-Médoc in 1932 and Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 1966. Traditional made and performs well in all types of vintages.Frosts in April prevented 2017 from being a top vintage, but very good wines were made.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot.

Bottle condition, capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level in neck

Medium bodied, dense fruit forward palate, softened tannins, pleasing complexity and balance with a satisfying finish. Very good wine for the price point. 89-90pts
