Chateau Beychevelle Vintage 1976

As it says on the website -Ever since it was first produced, and down through the various vintages, Château Beychevelle has reflected the elegance and finesse of Saint Julien's finest terroirs .Graceful and complex, with a tremendous aromatic richness, Château Beychevelle is made from the best plots in the vineyard and undergoes a rigorous selection process.It reveals its character after about ten years, and can be kept for several decades, depending on the vintage. The 1976 vintage produced a lighter style of wine, due to heavy rains before the harvest.

Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. Abv % not stated.

Bottle condition. capsule good, label good, wine level high shoulder

Contrary to some of the community notes, I felt this bottle still had gas in the tank. While perhaps lacking some depth and complexity this was a perfectly drinkable bottle of aged claret with red berry fruit to match the sous bois. Yum.
