Château Batailley is a well-regarded wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux's northern Médoc region. The estate, one of the oldest in the area, was classified as a fifth growth in the 1855 classification of the Médoc and Graves. The wine has, for decades, had a reputation for good value, though recent years are widely judged to show ever greater finesse and complexity. It has long been a favourite of The Wine Cru. 2007 was not one of the best vintages, but some good wines were made.
Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. Abv 13%

Beautiful wine and ever so well made and another gem from the forward drinking, relatively, 2007 vintage. Has a nice soft rich feel, akin more to a St Julien , lovely start to an earthy feel and with a darker feel on the finish. Very solid 92 and lots of life ahead.
