I've had a soft spot for this Sauternes as it was the first sweet wine from Bordeaux that I tasted and was readily available. 1983 was a good vintage and Bastor Lamontage made a lovely wine. These bottles are just out of bond where they have been since purchased en primeur.
Typical blend, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc. 73cl Bottle. Abv not stated.
Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of neck.
Tasting Note 12/10/2022
Apricot, orange marmalade made with brown sugar, a little vanilla, toffee, honey. In the mouth it's juicy, a little simpler than the nose implies with a touch more toffee tending to caramel…perfectly pleasant though.
