Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme Vintage 1982

This estate has always been a firm favourite of The Wine Cru and thus we have had the pleasure of drinking many vintages. 1982 was an excellent year for Bordeaux and this wine.

Typical Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl bottle. Abv not stated.

Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of neck

Final bottle from a mixed lot purchased at auction recently which included nine of these. Not decanted. Into neck level, excellent cork. This is a decent bottle, although not among the best from this case. Solid, mature claret, nothing off, cedar and spices, thinning on the palate but still lively and together, vestiges of fruit, good length.
