Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been a part of the Rhone Valley wine industry for almost two centuries, beginning with a small plot of land on the hills of Hermitage before expanding throughout the region. Thalabert is the oldest vineyard in Crozes Hermitage and has been owned by PJA since 1834.The 2014 vintage was a difficult one in the Rhone, but good producers made some good wines.
Typical blend Syrah. 1.5 Magnum bottle. Abv 13.5%
Bottle condition, capsule excellent, label excellent, wine level in neck
Tasting Note 21/06/2025 -Â 90 Points
Deep Ruby. Nose of asian liqour, red fruits and a hint of tertiary aromas. Palate felt light at first and took an hour in the glass for it to slowly evolve into a plush one. Moderate tannins, medium body, acid was medium. Finish was quick and concise.
I really think that this wine is at its peak now. You could wait another 1/2 years if you’re desiring a more elegant palate.
