In 1729, William Warre arrived in Portugal and became a partner in the business, which by this point was known as Clark, Thorton and Warre. The 2007 vintage was \u003c\/span\u003ewidely declared, by up to 50 houses, and is considered an outstanding vintage\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"relative\"\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e30\/06\/2024 - \u003cspan class=\"score\" itemprop=\"reviewRating\" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Rating\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"static\" itemprop=\"ratingValue\"\u003e93\u003c\/span\u003e Points\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cp itemprop=\"reviewBody\" class=\"break_word\"\u003ePristine bottle purchased at auction in 2018. Served at cellar temperature with a classic steak au poivre with Cognac sauce and potato gratin, and it worked wonderfully. Still quite primary at 17 years of age, classic cedary Warre style, polished black fruit and warm spices, whiff of crème pâtissière, delicately sweet, firm structure from ripe tannins, fresh and well balanced, crushed red berries and cream on the finish. Classic stuff, lovely balance, long life.
