The name is derived from Dominica in the Caribbean where the owner made his fortune. The estate's reputation dipped in the first half of the 20th Century and in 1969 it was bought by French industrialist Clément Fayat. Impenetrable colour; somewhat closed dark perfumed wood on the nose. Quite intriguing. Still a lot of soft tannin in the mouth, but I don’t mind that - a change from the climate fruit driven recent wines.
